Nike50: Never Done Listening

Long before Bill Bowerman was outfitting the running world, he was in his makeshift office under the grandstands of Hayward Field making one-off, custom shoes for his runners at Oregon. He would listen to his athletes, address their problems and innovate. There were lots of trials and many errors, but he kept going. And he kept getting better. His efforts changed what we run in, what we run on and how we run. I wrote this Nike50 heritage spot in partnership with Blue Ox and Nike to tell new generations the timeless tale of a coach who believed he could build a better shoe.
